WTB: Bug or maybe a Ghia near Orlando, FL

Jan 14, 2009 3 Replies

A friend wants to get back into aircooled VW's.

Looking primarily for a bug or possibly a ghia to tinker with. Doesn't need to be perfect, but needs to be in running condition, all basics "there". Reasonably reliable, legal, safe to drive etc.

Budget maybe up to $3.000 or so. Well aware it won't buy a perfect specimen

Year not so important at this point, I'll let you know if we get more details on these specs later on

Let me know...

Is Texas near enough to Orlando?

Not sure if this would work for you but Neil helped me find a 1952 Dodge truck in his neck of the woods (Boise, Idaho). I found it on craigslist and he was kind enough to check it out for me, along with storing it on his property until I save up some money to transport it. They don't have the rust problems there we have here on the East coast. You get a lot of solid straight metal for your buck. A truck like that would have easily cost me double here in CT.

Remco

hehe, a bit too far I thinks.. What do you have in mind?
