95 Jetta Radio Code

May 11, 2004 3 Replies

Good Morning All, I am attempting to re-enter the radio code for my "Premium Audio" radio. I've followed the owners manual to get the SAFE to disappear and 1000 to appear on face of radio. When I try to enter the code 4-1-2-2 I can't get the first button to display a 4. No problem on the 1-2-2 (second, third and fourth buttons). The Manual says "for technical reasons the first digit can only be a 1 or left blank". If that's the case how is it possible to enter the 4? Any help appreciated? Steve

Only choice you have for the first digit is 0 or 1. You may/must have the wrong code.

Perhaps you transposed the first two numbers? Since the first digit can only be 1 or blank try 1422.

I know last three numbers can be higher; I have a '96 with the Premium Audio and mine is 1964.

I switched the 4 and the 1. Radio works perfect! Thanks for the help. Steve
