The way I tend to do it is just to buy the comics one month and work my way through all the insurers at the back of them. I tend to get some reasonable quotes from the specialists (Snowball, Adrian Flux and the like) and some utter pisstake quotes from the big brands.
Best example of this was insuring my Disco recently
One driver, 29 years old, parked on private land, one blame accident in the last 5 years and 2 glass claims for a 1993 200 TDiS Disco with a few toys (Roofrack, lamp pod, raised suspension, snorkel, CB, oversize tyres - pretty normal mods)
Adrian Flux and Snowball both quoted me around the £250 mark for an unlimited mileage TPFT with agreed value for the vehicle plus replacement value for the toys along with business use and unlimited non-competitive offroad use whereas Admiral wanted to charge me £1800 for SDP use only and Direct line refused to quote. Hillhouse Hammond wanted to charge me £2800 for the same.
Phone around. Regardeless of what the AA ads say, youwill usually find a better price than them just by lokoing.

NFU; National Farmers Union, excellent service and quotes but no under 25.

What value/year.
I pay less than £200 for 50th Ann Defender 90 V8, self and spouse. Norwich Union.
I find NFU excellent too. Ron
You have to give these a try if you have 4 years or more NCB:
About a thousand pounds more than my renewal quote when I tried them :(

I'm with
Willie B
Is that the North or South Pole?
Willie B vaguely muttered something like ...
Heh .. mine's £500 with AA, though they were cheapest by far ...
I _do_ have a number of speeding convictions and points though ... currently only 9 points, but was standing on 20 .. ;)
All due to be 'off' next year ..
