I knew it, I just bloody knew it........

You recall my post about the "your brakes are knackered" warning light cable, well I plugged it back in and intermittantly it lights up, only sometimes when braking. dammit... I've found out that my front brakes are definatly 'keener' than the rear..

Does this lamp tell me there is a leak in the rear system somewhere? If so where is the most likely place to look? I assume that this valve thing is shutting off the rear system due to the leak (damn good idea that) but that means I'll not see any fluid showing me where the leak is, how do I find tha damn thing?

Try bleeding them first. The rear shoes wear at a different rate to the fronts, which can cause the fail valve to move slightly out of position. You have to bleed both circuits, and then do some complicated balancing procedure. Check the haynes book of lies.

I gave up with my failure valve, it gave nothing but trouble, and the seals had gone. Replaced it with two t-pieces instead. I think I'll get a hint if one circuit packs up when I put my foot on the brake.
