Citroen ZX Avantage windscreen etc

A very old mate of mine recently passed on his M reg Citroen for £200, in the genuine belief that I'd have good use of it.

However, I've found the wiper has scratched the windscreen, which smears lights at night. I suspect this is because the wiper moves as soon as you use screenwash, so it's moving over a dry dirty screen at first. I did a google search on this, found some people saying they'd tried everything without success, others recommending polishing with Brasso, and "Scratch Repair" and "Frost Restorers Equipment". Any thoughts?

Then there's a clonking noise from the front offside when going over bumps. And steering wobble above 65mph. And after I've gone about 100 miles, there's a mechanical click click click when turning right (faster when moving faster). Universal joint?

Any help much appreciated!

The windscreen looks terribly broken from this far away! Take it to your insurence's approved repair centre for a =A350 fix..... (After seeing to the 'A' area with a clean ball-pein hammer)

The clonking noise I had on an 'e' registered BX turned out to be worn track-rod ends. A new pair sorted the noise a treat.

Steering wobble could well be wheel balance - try getting them balanced!

The last one does sound like a dodgy UJ - try packing it with grease or selling the car! Seriously, look for a UJ from a crashed car at a scrappy.
