hey guys yeah yeah i know back 5 minutes and a new project on the go

well the nova 2l 16v is done and dusted so moving on to the wifes punto sporting atm currently sitting with 85 bhp standard and a 50 shot of nos which makes it quite um nippy on the safeway run

thing is she wants more grunt

anyone suggest a suitable conversion i know the 2l 20v lump will never fit in the bay and i dont want to chop it in for a hgt

2l 16v lumps any gen or maybes some moreengine tuning might be a thought

was thinking without the nos i coudl possible get 120 bhp out of it with cams standalone managment and a decent manifold dont want to gotheTB's route just toopricey for me atm

and no dont say rover 3.5 v8 and a x1/9 backaxle thats being saved for when i pick up a cheap mk1 punto :)

What about a small supercharger, and cams/bigger throttle body (standard, not individuals), porting, bigger valves.

You know it makes sense, Fiat/Lancia/Alfa have a strong tradition of knowing the right way to use a supercharger (Volumex Lancias etc).

How about a Nice Alfa twinc install? I take it you already ahve the 6 speed box?

sounds a niec plan but the ideas already there for a nice mk1 RWD conversion using a fiat t/c

budgeting at just over 500 quid too:)

think the wifes sporting will just get a good modding cams (if i can find anyone that sells them) ported polished head decent tubular manifold loose te emmissions control stuff and then maybe some bottom end internal work get the rods peened arps etc and i'll be pushing 120 pre nos

Swap it for a Mk1 Punto 1.4 Turbot lump.

A halibut with a FIAT engine?

Maybe worth looking into a motorpike and sidecarp combination?

In news:d28dc.26$ snipped-for-privacy@newsfe2-gui.server.ntli.net, Rob decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Strada Abarth 130 TC lump. YKIMS.

or a Guy Croft'ed Strada Abarth lump with 180 bhp!

HTH

In article , snipped-for-privacy@blue-nopressedmeat-yonder.co.uk spouted forth into uk.rec.cars.modifications...

Never thought of that. What about a Lancia Y10 turbo lump? Was basically a turboed Fiat 127, so shouldn't be so different to a Punto in shape and size?

Punto GT lump? 1.4 turbo, with a bit of strengthening and a bigger nitrous jet it would be entertaining
