OT I agree 100 percent!

I think a cool gag would be a two liter bottle of soda that has a twist-off cap that turns clock-wise to remove. That would certainly piss me off.

I'd like to have english made as the standard language in the U.S. No more pressing one for english and 2 for something else. It should be hello, press one for something else all others stay on the line. better yet hello, an operator will be with you in just a minute, (forget all the others) This will force them to learn english :)

So I take it you want government to force your political views upon businesses. How leftist of you.

Upon arrival in N. America, my parents couldn't wait to speak English.

They were proud to do so.

OTOH, when someone new to the country needs the most help, in the first year - or three - say, that would not exactly make getting help any easier, & could contribute a higher level of frustration - on top of what could already be a frustrating experience. (I'm assuming it would take that long for adults to become fluent in English.) Think how frustrating it can be to get help/get something straightened out via the phone when one's native language is English!

I've found that if you don't select a language and swipe the card, English comes up.

I had a geometry teacher like that in 10th grade. One difference, though: I got good grades in the course. That woman had some legs....

That is even a better idea, I give you a high five Markdigital

Say, you got a good recipe for King Salmon on the grill, spices or other tips? We had some copper river salmon last weekend, it was good. We obtained some fresh King today and put it in deep freeze for later.

I'm sure they were. My Grandparents came from Germany and could not speak any English upon arrival. Raised 12 kids and not one could speak German, expect for cussing.

There were many German owned businesses in the area that spoke mostly German and catered to the German community. I still remember going to the German deli as a child and hearing mostly German spoken. Could you imagine the outcry and injustice if the Government forced them to speak only English? Our country wouldn't have been much better than the one they were leaving.
