Not at all, no bits have fallen off my MG.

A "3 month old" R5 would be at least a decade and a bit ago, however.

He's a caravanner. You'll probably find a garden gnome's head in your bed.

Actally, no. What are you talking about man? This was a couple of years ago, not over 10.

Ever been to Markyate? I don't think you'll pay less than a hundred grand for anywhere round there. You'd probably be looking at somewhere around double that for anything that didn't need immediate work.

Hell, I think you'd struggle in the middle of Luton for less than a hundred grand.

Sorry Adrian my apologises. I meant to write Renault Clio, not Renault 5.

Gosh, you've been lucky in a very short term market blip.

I had two 45-shape 416SLis when they first came out, N-reg. They were perfectly decent cars - but exciting? No. Interesting? Not really. And that was a decade ago.

Not in Steve's road, The Dell. Property there is a tad less than £100,000. They are small terraced places. The words cat and swing come to mind.

I'd say £100 for a full tank of fuel and four or five decent tyres would be a good deal.....

Production of Renault 5s ceased 10 years ago, not "a couple".

Then it wasn't a 3 month old R5.

The last French-built R5s were before the first-shape Clio came out in

1991. The last Slovenian-built R5s sold in the UK were 1996.

*bzzzzt*

Is the wrong answer.

1 bed flat. Last sold £130k.

HTH.

Makes your 80k terraced in Staffordshire look a bit pikey, doesn't it?

You've been there, have you, Adrian?

I do miss the village - had 3 decent pubs, an indian and a fish&chip / pizza takeaway. My most trusted mechanic is there, too.

UpMyStreet.com suggests that the average of the last 15 terraced house sales in Markyate is £225,000

PropertyFinder.com has two one bed flats - one of which is a retirement flat without even a bathroom, and the other is revolting - in Markyate for £90k - and then the next cheapest is £150k, with a grand total of two other properties under £250k.

If you can find houses for sale in Markyate for under £100,000, then please let me know the vendor's number, because I'll buy it immediately and make a bloody fortune.

When I used to live in Harpenden I went the Markyate/Slip End way to the back of Hemel every day for bloody *ages* to avoid the M1 to and from work when I was working in Ascot then Winnersh.

I'm sat in Redbourn as I type...

I don't think John&/orLisa have been any nearer to Markyate than Birmingham.

Heh. I used to use that sort of route to Redbourne then on to St. Albans in the rush hour. My wife was working in Hemel and used to go that way, too.

Lovely. I used to meet the local VW owners club at a pub in Redbourne.

Heh.

They still appear to think I live in England. Well, they're on the correct land mass, but entirely the wrong country ;-)

My record was just under 30mins door-to-door from the back of Harpenden (top of Sun Lane, heading towards Batford) to the middle of Chorleywood...

That was in the 155...

In fact, he's probably closer to you now than if you were still in Markyate...
