Speedo KPH to MPH

The 101 has a metric speedo. Is there a direct replacement imperial one? If not, what's the best way to get it converted?

Cheers

Tipp-ex and a marker pen? :)

I like having the KPH on my speedo, i look at it and think 'wow, im doing 100!' :)

More seriously, would it not be easier to just make a permanent mount for a GPS unit? Should be more accurate then too. Leave the original speedo in for MOT/legal purposes (Was it Martyns thread about this a while back, where it was assumed that you had to have a normal speedo in there too?)

Dismantle it, and stick a sheet of paper/card to the dial inside the KPH scale to show MPH as well.

Yes, but this won't fix the mile counter - or KM counter as it is currently showing.

Oh, I don't bother with that thing. It only tells me how little further I can go before I have to fill up again.

There's a gearing mechanism available for motorbikes which goes inline with the speedo cable. I don't know if it'll fit a 101 though. The unit screws into the back of the speedo and the cable screws into the back of the unit. Cost is around £25

Otherwise just use stickers on the speedo and remember 80Km = 50miles

Just get a replacement unit from a 109/88 that shows mph. Maybe the

110 or 90 one will also fit.

did it with my exmod 110 rhd here in germany - although i switched from mph to kmph.

There's a whole bunch of them, depending on tyre sizes, etc. Good article here :
