New tyres

So nobody in your family knows how to drive properly, then?

At last, something we agree on.

My tires aren't bald, they're just worn at the edges, there's no law against having tires bald at the edges. It's only the centre 75% of the tire that matters. braking on straight's is gonna be fine!

It's more than 800 miles, probably just over 2000 miles (at a guess). I do trips twice the distance of hers and I change my oil every 6 months. Other than an oil change though the other parts probably won't want such an urgent change.

Blimey.... How does she manage to fit 1000 days into a year?

The wear on my front tyres is similar, but the off side one is worse probably due to the fact that I go clockwise around roundabouts.

Yes there is!! 75% of tyre must be at or above legal minimum tread depth of

1.6mm. Entire surface of tyre must have tread visible. Ie, any area that has gone bald means the tyre is illegal. It also means the tyres don't work as well as they should, which you've already found out.

GET NEW TYRES

C'mon lads - wake up and smell the bait.

?!?!?!

That has to be some sort of achievement. Get me the Guiness Book of Records on the phone! How in the name of my all sainted aunt have you managed to avoid roads & situations that will allow you to get over

50mph? I think I progressed to NSL roads by lesson 3. Just out of curiosity (ok, nosiness) whereabouts do you live?

Reasons not to = it's better to have the grippiest tyres on the front wheels on a FWD car. I always move the front tyres to the rear wheels and replace the front ones. Only ever replace two tyres at a time that way (so your reason 2 isn't valid). By the time the new front tyres have worn down a bit, the rear ones (which were on the front) are shagged, so you put the worn front tyres on the rear and two new ones on the front (so your reason 3 isn't valid). Works great. Been doing it for years. Never noticed any oversteer (so you reason 1 isn't valid).

What are you feelings about people that do 140mph and are still stuck to the road?

--Nick.

Michelin and Dunlop disagree.

May I ask a few questions?

  1. Are you drawing your pension?
  2. Do you wear a flat cap while driving?
  3. Were you aware that your car has third and fourth gears?

You're more of a troll than me! She goes shopping some days and sometimes goes to my sisters which is about 6 miles.

Oh yeah, I did in my driving test and a few times in my mums car, but that was years ago. My Seicento has never been over 50mph, only because I've never driven along NSL roads. I'm not scared of

60/70mph, it's just the type of roads that I drive on. My 899cc engine doesn't sound to great at speeds over 50mph anyway.

I spoke to my mum and she won't even let me get cheap tyres. We got into an arguement when I mentioned the cheap tyres, so I'm just gonna stick with the ones I've got :-(. If you see me on the roads you may want to keep your distance and not try to overtake me ;-). Anyway, if I crash my engine may not be pinking or misfiring anymore, so you'll all have some peace :-D I hope I don't end up in hospital though :-(

There are several options here, two out of three of the following apply:

You are extremely thick, you think the rest of the group are extremely thick, you are a troll.

Now get back under your bridge and belt up. The main thing wrong with your motor is the crap behind the wheel.

One day I'm gonna tell you to get stuffed ;-)
