can a 215/45R17 be used to replace a 225/65-17 tire

What I was getting at is that most if not all Nissans today use a timing chain. No replacing necessary.

Well I agrre with you Steve I worked as an Filter Engineer at a Major oil and air filter Mfg. I watched the testing on many pleated paper medias. Watched many AC fine pressure drop tests on many oil filters. Many people got some dumb idea that because Nissans filter sizes got smaller they were not as good as the older larger sized filters. That was just dumb thinking on their part. It's the type of pleated media that really counts when it comes to filtering not filter size.

How easy to repair the engine is not a high item with any Auto Mfg. It's how quick can it be built and cramed into the Auto.

The new maximas are quite a different car from the earlier versions. What I think they meant by vague was that the gears don't seem to be easily found sometimes. Each gear should be in exactly the same place in the gate every time but it isn't always like that. I think one would get used to it b ut I never drove the manual that long. Take one for a spin and you will get what I am talking about.

Wow! Thanks for the very informative link. It seems quite plausible that the ubiquitous coil failures would have some mechanical cause other than something to do with the coil winding/insulation. When mine go, and from what I have been reading it is only a matter of time, I'll give the Maxima.org method a shot.

I know, it's incredible somebody at the .org would investigate something, practical. I mean, the coils are are far from the muffler and tail lights I'm surprised half the people there have even heard of them.

I can get the avons in my regular size (225/50) or the /45 and can get the kuhmo in the 225/45. was wondering if anyone has gone through a set of the avons yet and can give me an idea of how long these will last me. (I don't drive hard usually, I'd say I really "push" it about 5% of my driving) the only thing I don't like about the avons is that they don't havea tread warranty. the Kuhmo's have a 30,000. or is there something else you can recommend in that price range (around 100 or so per tire) that will fit (either 225/50 or

I have good luck with it -- esp. on high mileage cars .. do you guys use it ? i think like synthetic oil, once you use it you need to keep on using it ... it claims to improve gas mileage by reducing engine friction ... it does seem to make the car run smoother , esp on cold startups.

My daughter has a maxima 2000 .The problem she is having is intermittenly the car runs rough and even at high speeds 90mph it seems it's holding back some power.We just had all 6 coils replaced because of the codes that came up .
