can a 215/45R17 be used to replace a 225/65-17 tire

In 2000 I went all over the Chicago area trying to find a 96-99 Maxima with a manual tranny. I found one. It wasn't in the best of shape and was priced at $17,000 with something like 45k miles on it. I ended up buying a brand new GXE for $19,500 (the base model w/ 5-speed)

Found snow tires size 215/45R17 on line for good price. Can they be used in place of a 225/65-17 tire on my 2009 RAV 4? Or would they be better suited on my 2014 Camry that has 215/55-17 tires?

Then you've never really owned/used directional tires.

Directional are much better than the standard Radial tires, in most cases. They're very great in rain, snow, and ice! I've never owned a set of radials that could literally plow it's way through the environmental hazards. Directional tires are not designed for off-road, they're a cruising city/highway tire.
